Cold War Follies, Spitzer Art Center, November 1, December 3, 2018
Cold War Follies, is a satirical reflection on the Cold War and in particular, life in the “Nuclear Age.”
The exhibit consisted of approximately thirty, 8” x 10” collages and four small sculptures. The pieces focused on the absurd aspects of the rhetoric of the Cold War and the seeming willingness of our leaders to put us at risk of mass annihilation.

Many of the works included in the exhibit draw on photographs and advertisements from the mid-1940s to the late 1960s. A brief selection of collages extend the exhibit to the present day and the administration of President Donald Trump.
Patty is told by Dad that everyone is going to have to be patient with Aunt Freida until the radiation levels go down, and it is safe to leave the fallout shelter.
